Centy joined his first sound, Isaiah, back in 1981 and like most youths just getting involved in the scene started by helping to move the sounds equipment in out of the venues.  Isaiah was a young sound but what they lacked in experience they made up for in ambition. In 1984 Isaiah was renamed Sir Graphics and it wasn't long until Centy fulfilled his ambition of becoming the sounds Controller. Graphics proved to be a popular sound, playing many dances including the big Reading cup clash of 1987 with Raiders, Sir Demus, African Roots, Stalingrad & Studio Magic.

In 1988 Graphics won the MFM Challenge Cup in Northampton in a clash with Sovereign (Luton) and Black Infinity (Oxford).  1989 saw Graphics split into two new sound systems, Love Unlimited which was a more soul influenced sound and Liberator, a roots sound with whom Centy became a member.  Unfortunately, Liberator was only in operation for a short time and after Liberator Centy took a short break from sound business but he never stopped attending dances and studying the big names of the time like Coxsone, Saxon and Luv Injection.  Around this time another local sound system, Cosmic split into two new sounds One Blood and Classic Wonder.

On the 25th of October '91 Classic Wonder played their first dance at Reading's Central Club, Centy was asked help out at this dance and straight away was invited join the new sound permanently. Initially Centy was just helping out with the equipment but at a private party in The Lions Den he was asked to select, Centy showed that he had potential as a Selector, proving he could run selection and that he had the spirit and organisation needed to succeed Centy was grateful for his chance to select and on the 24th December 1992 Centy selected at a dance against TKO, on the 25th he again selected against Sweet Sensation, on the 26th against Nasty Love and on the 27th at a blues dance...from then on Centy never looked back and became Classic Wonder's permanent Selector.

Classic Wonder played at dances up and down the country winning a cup clash in 1995 against Blackstar & Black Cobra and also  coming runners up in the 1996 Midlands Unification Dub Cup against Jah Surr Zema. In 1997 Centy decided to leave Classic Wonder but it wasn't long before he was back in demand and on the 8th of August '98 Centy played his first solo dance when Carlisle Bovell asked him to provide the music at his wedding reception which Centy was honoured to play.

Since 1998 Centy has built up his solo reputation and is now considered by many people to be one of the best DJ's in the area. Centy is always a popular choice with promoters, not only because of his ability to draw a crowd with his spirit and selection, but also because of his professional attitude towards the business.
