Shee Sound

Shee Sound is a Reading based female sound sound playing roots, reggae and dub featuring Fiona and Jewels who operate the sound and often invite other princesses to play.

After playing for a few years with other sound systems such as Jah Lion, Jambulu and BassBin, Fi and Jewels decided to join forces and create Shee Sound due to a lack of female sound systems in Reading at the time. They now have their own system too.  Starting out back in 2002 from their home in the Iguana and regularly playing a small dark club called the Bay, Shee Sound have gone from strength to strength playing at various reggae parties and events throughout the South including Falmouth, Southend, Newbury Reggae in the Park, Womad Festival and France.

Fiona

Fi’s love of conscious reggae music stems from time. Back in the day with a lively reggae scene erupting in Reading with bands like the Revolutionary Dub Warriors, her passion, love and support was ever present and she went on to assist local reggae artist Donette Forte whilst on tour.

Jewels is a devoted singer songstress and lover of reggae who has always had a love for sound. She has worked with Jah Works and the Breakin Even Collective and one of her songs ‘So True’ she wrote and had produced whilst in the Bahamas is soon to be worked on by the legendary Mad Professor and Sly and Robbie.

Fi and Jewels’s love for reggae music will play on thanks to the unified support of friends and sound systems that have encouraged them along the way.  ONELOVE
